A Florida man has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a cruise line after his wife passed away in a French hospital.

Boynton Beach resident Jerome Leftow filed the suit against Princess Cruise Lines LTD on May 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The suit claims that Leftow’s now deceased wife, Sarah, fell in her cabin while aboard a Princess cruise ship in April 2016, and was subsequently evaluated by one of the ship’s doctors. Sarah was also suffering from a fever at the time she was evaluated, and the ship’s doctor ordered Sarah off the ship in order to receive treatment. She died at a French hospital five weeks later.

The suit claims that Princess failed to hire competent medical personnel, and that the ship’s medical personnel negligently forced the couple from the ship.
