In Light of Travel Advisory Cruise Passengers Must Decide Whether or Not to Disembark in Jamaica

Proudly Representing Cruise Ship Cases in Miami, Nearby Areas of Florida and Nationwide

The U.S. State Department has issued a travel advisory for U.S. citizens traveling to Jamaica, due to elevated levels of crime.

The travel advisory listed several cities of concern on the island nation, including:

·         Kingston

·         Montego Bay

·         Spanish Town

The travel advisory recommends that travelers stay within resort areas and avoid venturing outside. But cruise travelers do not have this luxury. The very idea of a taking a cruise vacation involves the idea of disembarking from the ship and touring diverse locales.

While resort travelers can enjoy Jamaica from inside the relatively safe confines of the compound, cruise travelers must decide whether to step foot on Jamaican soil at all.
