A man died after being medically evacuated from a cruise ship last month.

WPTV.com reports that late last month the U.S. Coast Guard was called to help a passenger of the Grand Classica cruise ship as it sailed off the coast of Palm Beach. The man had reportedly fallen from the ship and was found to be severely injured when he was pulled from the water.

The victim was taken to St. Mary’s medical center, where he was pronounced dead. News reports in the days following the incident indicated that the man was on his bachelor party when he fell from the ship.

A statement, which was issued by the cruise company after the incident, indicated that the ship continued on its itinerary to Grand Bahama island after the man was evacuated.
