This week 12 people were killed, and many more injured, when a tour bus crashed in Mexico. The bus was filled with cruise ship passengers on excursion from the Royal Caribbean Serenade of the Seas and the Celebrity Equinox. Though data on the frequency of cruise ship excursion incidents may be difficult to obtain, due to the lack of reporting, some notable examples of cruise ship excursion injury are relevant to the discussion.
